Broadcast and Beyond

Friends and Heroes Broadcast Around the World

Our broadcast partners are widespread and we are very grateful to be able to share the Gospel so far around the world!

We're very proud of the result!

Friends and Heroes is not only produced as children’s entertainment, but also as entertaining education. The historical context of the 2D animation in Friends and Heroes is carefully researched and portrayed so that the setting of each series - three landmark cities of the ancient world, and their hinterland - is an accurate depiction of the architecture and lifestyle of that place and time in history.

The Biblical stories, in computer generated animation, are carefully selected to appeal to children and to complement, illustrate and develop the narratives and characters of the traditionally drawn animated adventure stories. This depth of research offers an exciting platform for a range of other media, educational and related products to inspire children - DVDs, books and games. The series and their ancillary products will aid the parent and teacher, as well as appealing directly to the child, in the teaching of history, religious instruction and cultural studies. The episodes can be used as a springboard for classroom projects and the Friends and Heroes' Children's Website www.friendsandheroes.tv supports these and inspires the child's curiosity and enjoyment.

All three Series are available to broadcasters with full stereo soundtracks in ten languages - Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), English, French, German, Hindi, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish (South American) - with sub-titles in the same ten languages and full audio description in English. Series 2 and 3 are available in HD Video, and all three have full Dolby 5.1 surround sound in English.

Singles, Series and Specials

Each single episode is self-standing and each series of thirteen shows has its own dramatic conclusion, however they are all linked in one seamless story by the journeys of Macky and Portia. In each series, two pairs of episodes follow one extended storyline and can be combined to create two longer form 'Specials', suitable for broadcast at particular times, such as Christmas.

The producers of Friends and Heroes welcome the opportunity to work with broadcast and other distribution partners to develop and create ancillary products which will stimulate and entertain children.
